Audio-Technica's ATH-M50xSTS-WL: Wireless Streamer Headphones With Industry Sound

Just a week after the announcement of their new closed-closed back wooden flagship, the ATH-AWX7000, Audio-Technica unveiled the ATH-M50xSTS-WL, a wireless version of their original M50xSTS model. As part of the StreamSet streaming headset line, this new rendition seeks to add wireless convenience for streamers seeking the iconic M50x sound.

Preserving a Classic

As its name may imply, the M50xSTS-WL contains the exact 45mm large-aperture drivers that made the original M50x a professional staple, contributing its dense bass and renowned clarity. Alongside its standard M50x earpads, Audio-Technica includes additional mesh earpads for boosted comfort during longform sessions.

Seamless Quality

The M50xSTS-WL takes a step beyond the traditional dynamic microphone headset with a cardioid condenser inspired by the 20 Series. This StreamSet microphone, beyond enabling high-res noise reproduction, is attached by a boom arm to properly position around background inputs. To additionally block out unwanted noise, Audio-Technica included an adaptive noise-cancellation function controlled on the earcup. For added ease, the microphone can be muted by lifting up the boom arm.

Unrestrained by wireless limitations, the M50xSTS-WL has a 24 hour battery life for a full day of use. If that some how is not enough, the headphones’ included USB-C cable can charge the headphones while they are in use.
