Introducing KD-1, “Kontrol at your fingertips”
The miniDSP KD-1, short for “Kontrol Dial” is a physical dial designed for managing miniDSP devices. Many customers have expressed the need for a remote that offers a more intuitive and informative experience than traditional infrared remotes—now we have it!
The miniDSP KD-1 can control various types of devices. If you own multiple Flex or Flex Eight units, the KD-1 will scan and locate all of them, allowing you to select which one to manage. Switching to a different device requires just a few clicks and adjustments of the control dial. While the KD-1 is a wired device that needs a cable for power, it communicates with controlled devices via Bluetooth and, in the future, Wi-Fi.
Currently, the KD-1 supports BLE-enabled units like the Flex and Flex Eight, with more devices expected to be added soon. Please note that your Flex may need a firmware upgrade for the Bluetooth module, as outlined in our manual.

KD-1 is now available for 175USD on our website with shipments expected to start in 4 weeks.

Stay tuned for some exciting roadmap to be announced in the coming weeks for this tiny controller!
REW AutoEQ in miniDSP
Room EQ Wizard (REW) is a benchmark for measurements and AutoEQ. For many years, we’ve had the privilege of collaborating with its developer, John Mulcahy. We’re even more thrilled to incorporate his latest API enhancement into our software, enabling remote control of REW.
Introducing AutoEQ for miniDSP, a licensed add-on that offers a straightforward measurement and EQ tool for users who may not want to delve into the full capabilities of REW. While REW itself remains free to use, this seamless integration of REW-based measurement into the miniDSP Device Console necessitates a small license fee for each enabled unit, with a portion of the fees contributing to the continued development of REW. Check out this brief GIF to see how easy it is!
Following few weeks of beta testing by our great community, the miniDSP+REW autoEQ license upgrade will now become available for purchase directly through the Device Console for $30 starting from Device Console build 1.2.2. This license is activated on a per-unit basis (i.e., one license per hardware) and can be applied to any units powered by the Device Console, including the 2x4HD, DDRC-24, Flex Series, Flex Eight, Flex HT, HTx, and SHD Series. Our OTA servers will push updates in the coming days a staggered fashion so to not overload our servers. Thanks for your patience!
Check out our updated user manuals for more details along with our forum post to get started. Have fun!
AMP8, an Ice-cold multichannel amplifier
The miniDSP AMP-8 is an 8-channel power amplifier designed for home theater, immersive audio, and multizone setups. It stands out due to its remarkable power-to-size ratio and high efficiency.
Utilizing ICEpower® amplifier modules, the AMP-8 delivers 300 Watts per channel at 4 ohms. This ultra-quiet amplifier boasts a dynamic range of 123dB and a SINAD of 102dB. Its amplifier modules are powered by an efficient ICEPower switch-mode power supply that provides 1500W of continuous output and peaks at 2400W. The result is a compact amplifier that delivers powerful performance without compromise.

Equipped with a comprehensive array of protection features, this amplifier is both versatile and durable. With its substantial power output, high efficiency, and audiophile-grade sound quality, the miniDSP AMP-8 is well-suited for a variety of home, studio, and commercial applications.
AMP8 is now available for 2200USD on our website with shipments expected to start in 4 weeks.

Introducing the PocketADC
Another addition to the lineup is the miniDSP PocketADC, an ultra-compact high-resolution A/D (analog-to-digital) converter. It accepts stereo analog input via single-ended (RCA) connectors and converts it to SPDIF coaxial and TOSLINK optical digital outputs. This pocket-sized converter supports a flexible sample rate ranging from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz using simple DIP switches and offers an exceptionally low noise floor performance of 114dB SINAD, ensuring optimal digitization of your favorite analog audio. Additionally, the 12V DC power input capability allows for a single power supply to power both the PocketADC and any 12V-powered miniDSP processor.
PocketADC is now available for sale on miniDSP webshop for 55USD and you can check out the datasheet here.

A Flex TRS hardware upgrade
As most of you know, miniDSP always tries to achieve better performance for our customers. In the case of the Flex TRS, we were able to improve its excellent noise and distortion specifications even further in a change made in May 2025.
By changing the output DAC section from PCM1795 to Dual ES9017, we achieved the following upgrade from v1 hardware.
- SNR: From 121dB(A) to 126dB(A)
- THD+N: From -112dB (0.00025%) to -120dB(0.0001%)
- Crosstalk: From -123dB(A) to -128dB(A)
On our APX555, it looks like very quiet and clean:

Firmware and DC upgrades
Device Console received some neat upgrades in the past few months:
- Flex HTx input Parametric EQ: Adding 10PEQ per input channels. HTx now has 10PEQ in, 10PEQ out.
- Adding “Import All/Export All” button for all 4 preset files
- PEQ “Bypass All” button to test your equalization on each bank
- Volume offset per sources for all platforms
- Full screen view to maximize your viewing window
